10pm-2am – Observation of the Feast of Gondulphus of Tongeren, with Dan Stokes!

July 16, 2016 @ 10:00 pm - 2:00 am UTC-7

Full Disclosure; Gondulphus’ Feast Day was sort of actually in June. Also the painting is not really of him but of St. Gregory Barbarigo, whose feast is Monday, when we’re closed… We got Dan Stokes though! A Hudson Valley expatriate, unrepentant knee exhibitionist and multiple Guinness world record holder– Most consecutive performances of Eagles covers without anyone noticing (14), and number of marriages accidentally officiated at once (173, Costa Concordia disaster, 2012)– Dan is a troubador to troubadors, a John the Evangelist of B sides and forgotten classics. His performances are a protean tour of the history of music, from the aforementioned Eagles covers to Alt Country, Teen Beat, Northern Soul, Arabesque, Rembetiko, K-Pop, Mento, Rocksteady, Neue Deutsche Härte, Freak Folk, Chicha, Yé-yé, Skiffle, Narcocorridos, Les haricots ne sont pas salés, sports anthems, gay techno, Igbo highlife and Gaelic Sea Shanties— he can and will play it all. Come armed with requests, the weirder the better.
